Eureka! Casper 15-Degree Mummy Sleeping Bag by Eureka Eureka bag is compact and a great bargain
I had four requirements when searching for a sleeping bag for a recent camping trip. The bag needed to be compact, light, moderately priced, and warm. The first three this bag passed with flying colors but the fourth it came up a little short. Based on the price and reviews I choose this Eureka bag and overall I was impressed. The bag is light and the stuff sack works great plus it fits nicely into the lower pocket of my hiking backpack. The bag itself feels nice and it has a few touches like a Velcro strap to hold the zipper handle and an internal pocket that makes it feel like a more expensive product. As far as warmth goes it did pretty well. On my trip the first night it got down into the mid 30's and the bag kept me warm. The second night it got down to about freezing and I woke up early in the morning a little chilly. I grabbed a couple of hand warmers, tossed them in the bag and I was warm again. The 15 degree rating may be overly optimistic but I would say that if you are going to be in above freezing temps then this bag will be fine. However if you will be getting into much colder temps you may want to invest in a higher end goose down bag.
I could see this bag being tight around the shoulders if you are a bigger guy/girl. I'm 6'2 and about 170 lbs and the bag fit me fine. I actually went with the long but it is a little too long... I would have been better off with the regular. Also, I would recommend paring any sleeping bag with a light weight pad (preferably self-inflating) to help with comfort and warmth. |

These sleeping bags are awesome! They are light weight and soft and compact well. I love how you can zip two of them together, even a long and a regular size. They zip together around the shin area. so you each still have your own foot area but you can still snuggle. I have not had a chance to test them out as far as the 15 degree rating goes but I'll bet they are toasty.
Eureka! Casper 15-Degree Mummy Sleeping Bag by Eureka Great sleeping bag for the price
I bought this bag for a week long camping and canoeing trip to Canada. The bag is very light and compact. Temperatures at night were in the low 40's (Farenheit), and the bag was a bit too warm for temperatures that high. Plenty of foot room, although the bag is a little tighter in the chest area than it should be. However, you cannot beat the features on this sleeping bag for the price.
Eureka! Casper 15-Degree Mummy Sleeping Bag by Eureka Very light and very warm bag.
Great bag! Very light and yet very warm. Fits very well in bottom of back pack. Great addition to supplies for backpacking campouts and hikes.
Eureka! Casper 15-Degree Mummy Sleeping Bag by Eureka Excellent Bag
This is an amazing product and it is an absolute steal for the price it's being offered at. I slept outside in 35 degree weather and was completely warm and have yet to take it down closer to 15, but my guess is that it would do just fine. Packs down to a nice, small, compact size that would fit perfectly in most any UL backpack and the stuff sack has a great compression system. The only draw back would be that if you're a big guy, tall or round, it might be a little tight around the knees/chest. This doesn't affect me at all however and I can't believe I got such a great bag at such a low price. Definitely recommend.
