Love my new pink bike

I love how it looks, I think it handles well. It's great for pulling my kids in a trailer. The seat isn't very comfortable, but I fixed that with a gel seat cover.

Extremely disappointed - twice

I ordered this bike for my daughter-in-law's birthday. She lives in another city from me. She had seen it online at Target and thought it would suit her just fine to tool around the neighborhood. When I Googled the bike, Amazon's came up, so since I trusted them, I ordered through them.

The first bike arrived in a damaged box with scratched parts, no seat and missing parts. It looked like it had been re-packaged and returned. So I called and Amazon immediately said they would send another, which they did. This one was no different. Although the seat was included, there were missing parts, not enough to put the second bike together.

I was embarrassed and disappointed. Even more disturbing is the fact that my daughter-in-law had to pay shipping to return the bikes --- $200 to return these bikes. Although I've ordered many books from Amazon, this was my first time ordering a product shipped from another party, in this case, Target. Don't know if ordering directly from Target would have been in any better -- it appears there is a problem on the manufacturing end. However, this experience means I will never order an item other than a book from Amazon again.

A HUGE disappointment and waste of money

I bought this bike from Target after reading all of the "wonderful" reviews written about it. At first sight the bike is beautiful, the seat looks nice and comfy, and what can go wrong with a Schwinn right they have been around for ages?

Well, lets just say my first time riding it was awful. All gear settings, didn't matter which gear I was on, it made noise. Either a ticking noise, a squeaking noise, a rattling noise, or as an added bonus all 3 at once depending on the gear. I can handle a little noise from a bike but this was ridiculous.

In addition, the bike is larger than your average bike, plus it is much heavier. I honestly don't think this bike is created for any kind of paved bike trail. This bike would probably do well on a smooth flat sidewalk, where you don't really need to go any faster than walking speed.

My area has a lot of bike trails, they are your average paved trails with flat land and some hills. Using the bike on these trails was terrible, it was so hard to actually get the bike going at a resonable and average speed, it didn't matter what setting I was there really was no difference in speed, or ease of use. It was just plain hard to get it going and to keep it going. I actually wound up switching bikes with my brother on the trail and riding his bike, which of course worked perfectly and I was soon flying along, while he for a short time was stuck with this pink Schwinn bike from hell.

This bike is incredibly difficult to "use" its overall speed performance is poor, the manufacturing and use of the gears is poor, the fancy metal on the bike is thin and flimsy so it dents easily.

This was a HUGE waste of money. Since I bought it at Target, even with a receipt, they will only give me store credit for $35.00 despite my having payed $137.00. So now I am stuck with a piece of junk bike I will never recommend to anyone let alone buy another Schwinn. Save your money and bike another bike.

Great bike!

I've had this bike for about a month now and I am VERY happy with it! The only thing that kept my review from being 5 stars was that it did need a little fine tuning out of the box - the wheels really needed to be trued - luckily, my husband builds bikes regularly and had all of the tools to adjust easily. The cruiser brake is AWESOME, and it shifts smoothly. As other reviewers have stated, it does make some noise (chain guard issue) but this doesn't slow it down, or really effect the quality of the ride. Very comfortable to ride, and in my opinion, is a great deal. It also shipped super fast!

Lovely, but please read before you buy!

I loved this bike for the looks of it. It is a real showpiece, a classic in style and looks. But I ended up returning it after a handful of rides because I found it tiring, kind of slow going on relatively easy terrain (1st gear feels more like a 5th gear) and uncomfortable. I found myself dismounting to walk it up hills.

I am 5'4" and average/medium build, average arms and legs but I felt kind of awkward and scrunched up on this bike and was often shifting positions and trying to get comfortable: moving back on the seat, moving my hands forward off the grips to more forward on the handlebars, shifting my feet back as my heels tended to rest on the pedals- the pedals seemed too much under me.

I don't know if maybe a very petite person with short arms and legs might find this bike to fit them okay? But then there is still the problem of it being a chore to pedal. I guess it would be okay for a beach boardwalk, but even then, I'd rather have something easier and more comfortable to ride.

For comparison, I tried riding one of my sons old bikes that is also a 26" size bike and it was a much more comfortable fit for me in comparison to the Roxie Cruiser, because it fit my body in more natural extensions, and had easier low gears so I could ride it up hills. So I recommend finding something that is a good fit for you and easier to ride. Something with an easier 1st gear.

The Roxie Cruiser bike is lovely to look at, but to me it wasn't worth what I had to pay physically for riding it. I wasn't enjoying the ride like I could have been on a different bike!
