Pyramid Speedometer/Computer

This unit is a revision of the Bell Speedometer, and there are some interesting changes: cable to pickup is stronger and is shielded. Computer has extra functions of SCAN, AVG SPEED, MAX SPEED, and CLOCK. Also, the elapsed time works. The scan feature is nice as it continuously scans between DIS, AVG, ET, MAX. This is nice while you are riding as I have come to enjoy the AVG (speed) and ET (elapsed time) being displayed as well as the distance traveled on the current ride (DIS) The unit is easy to install, and works quite well. I would recommend it over the Bell Pedometer/speedometer if your use is a bicycle only.

good little unit for the price

I just wanted the basics. This little computer did everything I wanted it to, and it did it well. Nice big readable screen. Simple and effective.

Then one day on my way out for a ride I stuck it in the bracket, only to discover that I had put it in upside down, and it had clicked into place without any hesitation.

Well, once you've done that (and its WAY too easy to do), the computer is broken, because the metal contacts only move one way, so when I tried to extricate the computer from the mount, it wouldn't budge, and when I forced it, the contacts got irreparably bent.

If you've read this review, then maybe you will remember not to do this, in which case you've eliminated the only problem I had with it, and you're good to go! The unit works great otherwise.
