I bought these mounts to make a rack for my truck bed. I had a cheap Harbor Freight cargo bar that I mounted two of these to. They work great. The lock tab is great feature that doesn't come on the $20 bike shop fork mounts.
One slight shortcoming would be the difficulty opening the lock once closed. A small tool to pry the lever from the lock tab would help.
Overall for the same price as one name brand mount from an LBS I had two delivered to my house. |

I bough two of these new Delta fork mounts for my wife's Xterra (I built my own interior rack using an L-shaped piece of sheet-metal, and attached these mounts).
Pros: In the previous Delta fork mount, getting the arm lined up for the locking position took several tries, but now the new design just goes right into place.
Cons: Once the lever arm is closed, you really have to work your fingers or possibly a tool into the gap to open it. In the end, this is for the best as you don't want this thing opening up without some force.
Summary: Use these to make your own bike rack using 2X6 planks in the back of your truck, or go to the hardware store and get creative with your SUV.....

If you have a pickup it can bolt in the bed , just take your front wheel off put the front wheel in the mount pull up the quick release and it holds your bike in a upright position while you drive around.
