Just purchased this item. Did alot of research but couldn't find anything that said this was compatible with my 2009 Pontiac Vibe w/ factory racks. Figured I could make it fit one way or another. I was pleasantly surprised to find it is a perfect fit! Doesn't interfere too much with the sunroof and the flexible antenna bends over but is not a problem, plus the hatch opens without a problem. I put some clear pvc tubing over the mounting brackets to prevent scratching my factory racks.
Easy to assemble--try standing it up to attach top and bottom shell at the hinge point, much easier than the directions suggest. |

| For the money, this product is a great buy. It was easy to put together and the instructions were clear. Thule has a reputation for quality products. I am very pleased. Works well for weekends away. It does only have 8 cu feet so if you need more this wouldn't work. |

| Bought this for our 2008 Rabbit - fit on VW's roof rack. Packed 3 adults worth of cool weather clothes into this. This little thing holds a lot more than it looks like it should. I highly recommend it ! |

| Perfect amount of extra space when we take four people on vacation with our Highlander. Does in fact hold two sets of golf clubs. Well made and easy to put together and on vehicle with two people. |

Actually we were really pleased with the Cargo Box. We have a larger Thule so we have one to compare it to. We needed something distinctly smaller that would fit on top of a fully loaded CRV for a 2400 mile trip. No complaints at all.
Some observations: Yes, it seems a little flimsy compared to the "real" Thule boxes but that comes with the price. It's been very durable but a little disconcerting when the suitcases bend the sides over as you take them out. There's never been any damage to the box or hardware however.
We experienced some rain and not a hint of leaking. However after one hot buggy day the inside had dozens of small insects inside; the front of the Thule was plastered. Bugs got inside but no rain. Go figure.
Yes, I'd buy it again. A good serviceable cargo box that does exactly what it says. Just don't think the "real" Thule when you buy this. |

To say that Thule’s beginnings in the U.S. were humble would be an understatement. Founding member Ake Skeppner sold products at windsurf competitions on the New England shoreline, exhibited the product line at a number of different trade shows, and even canvassed local retailers in the greater New York area, all from his "office"--a now-famous station wagon. Initial success was found in the small but growing sport of windsurfing where a strong, reliable roof rack was an indispensable piece of equipment. This was quickly followed by success in the ski business where Thule's Swedish heritage certainly helped the product gain rapid acceptance. By the mid-1980s, the company sold products directly to ski and windsurfing shops but sold through distributors to address the large and growing bike business. A risky decision was made to terminate these distributor relationships and sell direct to retailers through a network of independent sales representatives. Much of the company's market success today can be traced to that decision. Shortly after, Ake hired an engineer and set up a small assembly plant in Elmsford, New York in order to design and manufacture bike carriers that would offer the features demanded by the U.S. consumer and compete effectively with other racks on the market. The company has since grown rapidly through product innovation, a commitment to quality, and the continuance of a strong entrepreneurial spirit as well as continuing to evolve their products to meet the needs of users. |
